The Juvenile Hurling and Camogie year 2017 was recounted at our annual Presentation night in the Sportlann on Sunday 14/1/2018. Chairperson of the senior Club Tony Stakelum & Camogie Chairperson Annie Minish extended a warm welcome to the large numbers of parents and players who were there on the night and also welcomed our special guests the u14 boys who represented Mayo in the all Ireland winning team of 2017 and u16 camogie girls who also represented Mayo in their all Ireland winning team of 2017. Both sets of players were presented with trophies to mark such a momentous achievement.
Both Chairpersons thanked their respective coaches who gave of their time during the year, and to the parents who also gave of their time ferrying their children to training & matches. Finally, they thanked the players for the way they represented the club during the year whether at training or matches and said they were a credit to our club.
The various presentation took place for the different age groups with pride of place going to our u10 Camogie team who were presented with their county championship medals. and finally congratulations to Leo Moran who won the prestigious Pete Finnerty Trophy for the most improved hurlers at u12 age group to Aislinn Meade Murray who won most improved Camogie player for 2016 and Saoirse Hauttmann who won the 2017 most improved camogie player respectively.
